ELIZABETHAN GALLERY SPRING ART OPENING AND RECEPTION, FRIDAY, MAY 9, 5 – 9 PM

The Elizabethan Gallery will host its Spring Art Opening and Reception on Friday, May 9th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm this year.  A special Client’s Appreciation gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m.  This reception is free and open to the public.

This reception and opening will be held in conjunction with the Mid City Merchants’ annual Spring art festival, HOT ART, COOL NIGHTS.  HACN happens annually and is always the Friday of Mother’s Day weekend.  It starts at the intersection of Jefferson Hwy and Goodwood Blvd and continues down Government Street to the intersection of Government and 14th Streets. Enjoy fabulous art, live music, food vendors, and shopping, as well as meeting great local artists and unique local businesses.

HOT ART, COOL NIGHTS is the largest Spring art festival in Baton Rouge and it’s returning for another year of enjoying the best that Mid-City and its merchants has to offer.  HACN is also free and open to the public bringing artists, makers and musicians to one location for the entire city and surrounding areas to enjoy.

Liz Walker, owner of Elizabethan Gallery, founder of  HACN, has continued to be part of the event since its inception over two decades ago, had this to say about the event:

“I’ve been a part of HOT ART, COOL NIGHTS and Mid-City Merchants for decades.  I’m so excited the festival is happening again this year, showcasing some of the best local talent, artisans, and business that Mid-City has to offer. The Elizabethan Gallery is excited to partner with the Mid City Merchants to connect with the community through HACN as we work toward our goal to keep the public familiar with Mid-City Merchants and its contributions to the midcity area, the Baton Rouge Metropolitan area and beyond.

Local artists that the public can meet and talk to at The Elizabethan Gallery include Carol Hallock, Keith Douglas, Krista Roche, Kay Lusk, Carol Creel, Dana Mosby, Janice Evans, Andrea Phillips, Kathy Daigle, Diego Larguia, Cheri Fry, Ellene Jo Whiley and Cathy Smart.

The Elizabethan Gallery is located at 680 Jefferson Highway at Government Street and further information can be found at elizabethangallery.com, on Facebook or by calling 225-924-6437.
